Carrow Road Trust of Peabody claimed the $25 million top prize in Massachusetts’ $25,000,000 Mega Money scratch-ticket game, with Donald MacDonald representing the trust. The trust selected a one-time cash payment of $16.25 million before taxes, according to MassLive’s report citing Massachusetts Lottery officials: MassLive.
The ticket was sold at the 7-Eleven on Franklin Street in Quincy. The retailer is eligible for a $50,000 selling bonus, MassLive reported.
The Trust’s Public Role
MassLive reported that the claimant was publicly identified as a trust rather than as an individual. Massachusetts permits a trust or another qualifying legal entity to claim a prize through a trustee, according to the report. Mark William Bracken, identified by MassLive as the Massachusetts State Lottery executive director, said the trustee or legal representative is made public while the trust’s beneficiaries are not.
One Top Prize Remains
The $50 Mega Money game launched in May 2025 with three $25 million grand-prize tickets available statewide. Carrow Road Trust’s claim was the second, leaving one top prize unclaimed, according to the Fall River Reporter.
Statewide Ranking
The $25 million prize is the second-largest Massachusetts lottery prize won or claimed so far in 2026, behind a $29.71 million Megabucks jackpot from a ticket sold at King Mart in Holyoke, MassLive reported. The Massachusetts State Lottery called that jackpot a Megabucks record in an official announcement.
Where Lottery Revenue Goes
The Massachusetts State Lottery says its mission includes returning revenues to the Commonwealth for the benefit of cities and towns and supporting early childhood education grants. The Lottery reported an estimated $1.045 billion in net profit for the Commonwealth during fiscal 2026, according to the Massachusetts State Lottery. Scratch-ticket sales totaled $3.808 billion in fiscal 2026. Massachusetts Lottery players won an estimated $4.379 billion in prizes that year, when the agency reported a record prize payout percentage of 74.19.
