
State Route 74 in north Phoenix, a thoroughfare for both local and passing travelers, was the scene of a fatal incident over the weekend. According to FOX 10 Phoenix, the road has now been reopened following a closure due to a two-car crash on Saturday night that resulted in the death of a driver.

The accident occurred around 7 p.m. near the intersection with I-17 at milepost 29. In an attempt to overtake another vehicle, a westbound driver entered the eastbound lanes and, subsequently, lost control, causing a head-on collision with an oncoming car, 12 News detailed.
"A two-vehicle collision involving a fatality occurred," reported the Arizona Department of Public Safety, as per FOX 10 Phoenix. While the investigation is ongoing, authorities disclosed via FOX 10 Phoenix that impairment does not appear to be a factor for the driver who caused the accident.
