Early this morning, a pedestrian was fatally injured when struck by an SUV in Brooklyn Park, according to Anne Arundel County Police. The incident, which is now under investigation, occurred on southbound Ritchie Highway near Hammonds Lane at approximately 4:45 a.m., as reported by FOX Baltimore.

The victim, a man believed to be between 40 and 50 years old, was attempting to cross the highway from the west side when the collision happened. A 1990 Chevrolet Suburban driven by a 59-year-old Baltimore resident collided with him. The driver and witnesses on the scene cooperated with the authorities following the crash.

Following the incident, the injured man was rushed to R Adams Cowley Shock Trauma Center in Baltimore for emergency care. Despite the efforts to save his life, the man was later pronounced dead at the hospital. As of yet, the identity of the pedestrian has not been determined, as reported by WBAL-TV.

Anne Arundel County police stated that their Traffic Safety Crash Reconstruction Team is actively conducting an investigation into the circumstances surrounding the tragic event.
