A hangar at Timmerman Airport in Milwaukee caught fire yesterday morning. Fire crews responded near 91st Street and Hampton Avenue, where the blaze sent heavy smoke into the sky. No aircraft were inside the hangar at the time, and no significant damage to airplanes was reported. One firefighter sustained minor injuries during the response, and investigators are working to determine the cause of the fire, WISN reported.
The Milwaukee Fire Department arrived around 10:40 a.m. to find the hangar fully engulfed, as per FOX6 News. A neighboring hangar sustained damage but the fire was contained, with one structure considered a total loss. Milwaukee County Airports confirmed the hangar was empty of personnel at the time.
At least nine fire engines and several ambulances responded to the scene, according to TMJ4, with smoke and flames visible as crews arrived shortly before 11 a.m. The fire is now under control, and multiple agencies, including We Energies, are assisting with the investigation.
