Firefighters in Southeast Baltimore were challenged by a two-alarm fire at a local golfing center last evening, with one firefighter sustaining minor injuries during the effort. The incident took place at the Bayview Golf Center, situated in the 6500 block of East Lombard Street, where flames engulfed the enterprise, as reported by Fox Baltimore.
A fire destroyed the golf center, but no civilians were hurt. One firefighter had minor injuries and was taken to the hospital in stable condition. Emergency crews worked through the burned remains, according to early reports from the Baltimore City Fire Department.
In the aftermath of the fire, investigators are focusing on the solar panels that adorned the roof of the Bayview Golf Center, suspecting that they may have overloaded and thus sparked the conflagration; this information was provided by officials still surveying the damage and considering the next steps of their investigation, as reported by WMAR-2 News.
