The City of Fort Collins has announced it will be hosting the upcoming 2025 Urban Design Awards at the Drake Center on Monday, Oct. 6, a Monday evening slated for celebrating the innovative designs that have contributed to the aesthetic and functional evolution of the city's built environment. The event, which is set to unfold from 4:30 to 7:30 p.m., will shine a spotlight on a variety of projects across diverse categories, ranging from masterful architectural feats to environmentally sustainable designs.
Since 2006, the Urban Design Awards have been a periodic fixture in the city's event calendar, lauded for honoring those who've shaped Fort Collins' spaces in ways that touch upon both functionality and form. This year's iteration will encompass awards distributed across several categories, such as Urban Design Plan, Architecture, Urban Fragments, Sustainable Design, Public Spaces, and Housing, in addition to the Hall of Fame, which pays homage to longstanding contributors to the city's urban design landscape.
As per the City of Fort Collins, a volunteer selection committee, pulling in perspectives from local designers, city board members, and staff, has meticulously reviewed submissions to determine who among the entrants has pushed the envelope in urban design, meriting recognition and the coveted awards.
