In a move highlighting Texas' investment in its natural resources, Governor Greg Abbott has appointed Megan Deen as the new president of the Trinity River Authority Board of Directors, a key agency overseeing water resource management across the state. According to an official announcement from the Governor's office, Deen's expertise in finance as the CFO of the Fort Worth Zoological Association will now extend to steering the Authority which is critical for the development and conservation of the Trinity River Basin's surface water resources.
Deen's portfolio extends beyond managing zoo finances, she is actively involved in educational and community initiatives as a board member at the Trinity Valley School and a sustainer of The Junior League of Fort Worth. Her professional affiliations include the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants and the Association of Zoos and Aquariums, which, provide her with a broad network of professionals and resources that can be leveraged in her new role.
The official statement by the Governor's office noted that Deen is also engaged with her alma mater, serving on the Texas Christian University Chi Omega Chapter Advisory Board. Holding both a Bachelor of Business Administration and Master of Accountancy from TCU, she brings a strong educational background in business and accountancy to the Authority.
