The Fort Worth community will need to adjust as the Municipal Court satellite office situated within the Vivian J. Lincoln Library is set to close its doors later this month. Announced in a statement on the City of Fort Worth, the closure is slated for September 26, with operations ceasing at 6 p.m. that day. This decision comes after city officials noted a decline in the use of this particular satellite office.
William Rumuly, the court director, expressed disappointment in the outcome, stating, "We had expected consistent requests for service at this location after the successful use of our Southwest Municipal Court satellite." Unfortunately, the patronage didn't truly materialize as anticipated. "Despite several efforts to increase use, the foot traffic has remained lower than anticipated," Rumuly continued in the City of Fort Worth. Consequently, the decision was made to allocate the space to other municipal needs.
The city has also expanded walk-in court hours, now offering additional time slots for citizens to be serviced Monday through Friday, from 8:30 to 11:30 a.m. and from 1:30 to 4:30 p.m. at the A.D. Marshall Courts Building located downtown. For further details regarding available services and different payment options, residents have been advised to visit the official website or to call the court directly at 817-392-6700.
