In a heartening showcase of interspecies solidarity, Franklin County's Crisis K9s, Titus and Scooby, recently concluded a mission in Minneapolis aimed at aiding a community in distress. As reported by the Franklin County Sheriff's Office in a social media post, the dogs and their handlers worked to soften the blow of grief after the Annunciation Catholic School shooting. The media was given an opportunity this week to interact with the Crisis K9s and learn about their contributions from Sheriff Baldwin and Sergeant Darrah Metz, the program supervisor.
The response was initiated when the Hennepin County Sheriff’s Office reached out for support, with Titus and Scooby arriving to actively provide comfort to those affected by the incident, including law enforcement personnel, community members, and the school's faculty. In a statement obtained by the Franklin County Sheriff's Office, it was noted that these K9s "work hard every single day to provide a little bit of relief from some of the toughest moments," underscoring the importance of their presence in times of crisis.
