Those of us grappling with the nuances of daily tasks due to various challenges may find solace and support in adaptive equipment. In an effort to demystify these tools and promote independence, the Five Points Center for Active Adults is hosting a free class on occupational therapy. Scheduled for October 24, from 10 to 10:30 a.m., the session welcomes those 18 and older to engage with occupational therapy students as they unpack the utility of adaptive equipment in everyday living, according to the announcement from the City of Raleigh.

The class will teach attendees about tools for cooking, dressing, leisure, and home activities. Lauryn Coffman will lead an interactive demonstration, allowing participants to practice using adaptive tools.

The session is open to all, with no registration fee, and provides an opportunity to learn practical tips and ask questions. It will be held at the Five Points Center for Active Adults, which regularly offers programs focused on accessibility and well-being.
