
Quoc Nguyen, a 28-year-old Marine veteran known as "Hiu Jake," was found dead on Thursday night by the side of Lakewood Forest Drive near Grant Road in Harris County. Authorities confirmed he had been shot. Nguyen, an aspiring EMT and Uber driver supporting his mother and sisters, is missing his vehicle. A relative described him as "easy-going and laid back," according to KHOU.
Quoc Nguyen was found dead by the side of a road near a vehicle that had rolled out of a nearby apartment complex, with marks in the grass indicating a possible struggle. Residents have placed a wooden cross at the site. The Harris County Sheriff’s Office is investigating, and Crime Stoppers is offering up to $5,000 for information leading to an arrest. Nguyen’s family has set up a GoFundMe account to help cover expenses. Uber acknowledged the “devastating tragedy” and offered condolences, as per KHOU. The Harris County Sheriff’s Office and Crime Stoppers are asking anyone with information about Nguyen’s death to come forward.
