On Sunday, an incident in Harris County led to the arrest of Elia Grace after deputies responded to a welfare check. Officials from Constable Mark Herman's Office arrived at a residence in the 19200 block of Calico Place Lane to potentially assist someone in need, but the situation quickly escalated.
Deputies reported encountering Grace and, during their investigation, attempted to detain her. This is when Grace is said to have begun to resist, leading to her assaulting a deputy. The Constable's Office states that the deputy was kicked in the groin, causing pain, which resulted in her arrest for Assault on a Police Officer. The specifics of what led to the attempted detention have not been disclosed.
The information was released via an official Facebook post from Precinct 4, which detailed the account of the altercation and shared the following: "Elia Grace was arrested and booked into the Harris County Jail for Assault on a Police Officer. Her bond was set a $5,000.00 out of the 174th District Court."
