The search for Rick Andrade, a 37-year-old man from Kurtistown, remains active as the Hawai’i Island Police continue their request for public assistance. Andrade has been missing since February, and was last known to be in the area near Volcano Road and Enos Road. A subsequent sighting placed him around 40th Avenue and Pohaku Drive at approximately 8:30 p.m. on the night he vanished.
Standing at 5 feet 10 inches and weighing 189 pounds, Andrade has short black hair, brown eyes, and is recognizable by several tattoos, including a ti-leaf lei band on his right bicep, "Andrade" inscribed in large lettering on his upper back, and an additional piece of lettering on his right shin, according to the Hawai'i Police Department.
Officials have been intensifying their outreach, encouraging anyone with any knowledge of Andrade’s whereabouts to step forward. They are seeking to collect as much information as possible that could lead to locating him. The Police Department’s non-emergency line is available for tips at (808) 935-3311. In addition, Detective Duane Rapoza of the Area I Criminal Investigation Section can be contacted at (808) 961-2383 or via email at [email protected] for those who might have more direct or specific information.
