Last night witnessed the tragic loss of a Henderson home due to a fierce blaze that also claimed the life of a family cat. The Henderson Fire Department, alongside the Clark County Fire Department, responded to reports of a house fire near Lake Mead Parkway and Warm Springs Road, which later turned out to be near Lake Mead Parkway and Boulder Highway. As per FOX5 News, smoke was visibly emanating from the residence located on Fir Street.

The situation intensified swiftly, eventually to culminate in what has been classified as a 2nd alarm fire. A neighbor's doorbell camera managed to capture the devastating event on video. Holly Huth, a local teacher and the homeowner, narrowly escaped the flames. In a statement to 8 News Now, Huth expressed the shock and dread that accompany such a sudden loss, "I don’t know what to do, honestly, it’s terrifying," and "You work so hard for everything, and then it kind of goes up in flames all in one minute. Just take things one step at a time, I suppose."

Further clarifying the circumstances of the incident, Huth mentioned her cat's death in the fire. Thankfully, the rest of her family managed to quickly get out. The two fire departments present at the scene are diligently working together to thoroughly understand the origins of the fire.
