
The Hickory Police Department is investigating a deadly traffic accident that killed a motorcyclist on Friday night last week. Around 10:20 p.m., a 2020 Kawasaki motorcycle traveling westbound on US Hwy 70 SE lost control and collided with two parked vehicles at the Cloninger Ford of Hickory dealership.
According to the Hickory Police Department release, the rider, 23-year-old Elijah Jenks of Granite Quarry, NC, was pronounced dead at the scene. Excessive speed was identified as a factor, and no charges have been filed so far.
