Hickory's community is set for an evening of candy, costumes, and civic pride at the upcoming Spirits of Service & Good Deeds Trunk or Treat event. According to an announcement published by the City of Hickory, the free gathering will take place on October 14 from 5-7:30 p.m. at L.P. Frans Stadium, inviting families to meet and learn from those who serve and protect their everyday lives.
The Hickory Parks, Recreation & Sports Tourism Department alongside the Walkin’ Roll Activities League are hosting the occasion, which aims to educate attendees about public service professions. With local community helpers on hand, children, and adults alike can engage with these figures up close. Municipal staff and first responders will be available, to discuss their roles and to share insights into the careers that keep Hickory running. Plus, the event is designed to raise awareness about the support systems available for people with disabilities within the community.
Families are encouraged to come in costume, dressing as their favorite public service workers, be it firefighter, nurse or anything in between, adding to the festive spirit of the occasion while fostering a sense of connection with those in such vital roles.
L.P. Frans Stadium, well known to locals as the home of the Hickory Crawdads, will serve as the backdrop for the evening’s activities, located at 2500 Clement Boulevard NW.
