Manchester, NH witnessed a dramatic turn of events yesterday night as a high-speed police chase ended with a Tesla slamming into a residential building. The driver, identified as 37-year-old Alan Piket from Tewksbury, Massachusetts, was reportedly traveling at a high rate of speed on Interstate 93 before crashing into the house. According to NBC Boston, Manchester police arrived at the scene around 7:45 p.m. to find the vehicle had caused significant structural damage to the home.
The chain of events began when New Hampshire State Police spotted the white Tesla on I-93 and attempted to pull it over, NBC Boston reports. The driver, however, chose to not comply and exited the highway at Exit 6, eventually reaching speeds over 100 mph on East Industrial Drive, where the limit is a mere 30 mph. His high-speed journey came to a halt as he lost control near the intersection of East Industrial Drive and Island Pond Road, before finally crashing into a local residence.
The impact of the crash left a large hole in the side of the house. Manchester police conducted a safety sweep and found four unharmed dogs inside, with no other residents present during the incident. Both NBC Boston and Boston 25 News confirm that both the driver and the dogs were unharmed in the crash.
Piket is now facing charges for reckless conduct with a deadly weapon and criminal mischief. He was scheduled to be arraigned today at the Manchester District Court, as per the information provided by Boston 25 News.
