A Hillsborough County detention deputy has been arrested on DUI charges. According to WTSP, 60-year-old Shannon McBride was taken into custody in Manatee County after deputies responded to reports of a possible impaired driver in a silver Toyota Tacoma near the Brixley Apartments on Upper Manatee Road last Saturday evening.
Deputies said McBride showed signs of impairment and refused to provide a breath sample, as per Tampa Bay 28 report.
McBride has worked with the Hillsborough County Sheriff’s Office for seven years and was assigned to a housing unit at the Orient Road Jail. The Tampa Free Press reported she is on administrative leave without pay pending the outcome of an internal affairs investigation.
