Hillsborough County's latest move to expand the local green spaces has caught the attention of the community as officials seek public input on their plan to acquire a small parcel of land adjoining Country Place Park East. In an effort to preserve the valuable open spaces that residents so often seek for relaxation and recreation, the Hillsborough County has set its sights on a 0.23-acre plot at 4619 Ehrlich Road, Tampa, Florida.
The land, currently in the hands of the U.S. Department of Transportation, if acquired, would add to the park's footprint which houses several handball courts and a parking lot. The Hillsborough County, however, has not earmarked any funds for development on this newly acquired parcel or the existing park as of yet. This acquisition is squarely aimed at upholding the open greenery that graces the community.
Ensuring that residents' voices are heard on this matter, the Hillsborough County will be conducting an online engagement through the Hillsborough Education & Engagement Hub. From now until September 22, locals can share their thoughts, hopes, and potential concerns about the park's expansion. Interested individuals can weigh in on the proposal by visiting HCFL.gov/HCEngage to submit their feedback.
