The fire, while disruptive, did not necessitate evacuations, allowing residents a breath of relief. By mid-morning, the Honolulu Fire Department had made significant headway against the flames. According to KHON2, the fire was 50% contained by 8:28 am and had reached 75% containment by 9:27 am, demonstrating the responders' unyielding pursuit to rein in the blaze.
Ultimately, the fire consumed 12 acres of land before Honolulu's firefighters achieved complete control. A report by Hawaii News Now highlighted the HFD's statement declaring the wildfire 100% contained by 12:37 pm.
