A suspect has been taken into custody in connection with an aggravated robbery and carjacking incident, while Houston authorities continue their search for a second individual involved. The harrowing ordeal unfolded on the evening of Tuesday, May 13, when two men targeted a victim in a hotel parking lot on the 12100 block of Northwest Freeway in Houston, Texas, according to the Houston Police Department’s Robbery Division.
The individual now behind bars, 52-year-old Jeffery Scott, faces charges of aggravated robbery with a deadly weapon. Despite the arrest,, the identity of his accomplice remains a mystery. As reported by the Houston Police Department’s Robbery Division, the complainant was accosted as he entered his vehicle, the perpetrator brandishing a firearm and demanding he vacate the car. Meanwhile, the second suspect injected himself into the chaos, using closed-fisted violence to subjugate, and commandeering the vehicle with Scott.
Swift action by the North Patrol Division of the Houston Police led to the discovery and subsequent stop of the stolen car, which yielded only Scott inside. Following the recovery of the automobile and a handgun within, Scott found himself charged and booked into the Harris County jail, his actions earning him a spot in the case files of the 232nd State District Court, as detailed by the Houston Police Department’s Robbery Division.
Houston police are asking for the public’s help to identify a second suspect in a robbery case.
