
Three people, including a Houston Police Department officer, were taken to the hospital after a crash in Houston on Saturday. The incident happened around 6 p.m. on the 2600 block of Fondren Road near Westheimer Road. Emergency crews responded to the scene, according to FOX 26 Houston and KHOU.
FOX 26 Houston reported that the crash initially appeared to require an extraction, with early information suggesting the officer was trapped in the vehicle. When Houston Fire arrived, the officer was already out of the car. The officer was taken to a nearby hospital, and two civilians were also transported for medical care. Their conditions were not specified, though officials indicated the transport was mainly precautionary.
A Houston police patrol unit, with lights and sirens on while responding to a call, collided with another vehicle carrying two people, as mentioned by KHOU. The investigation is ongoing, and authorities have not released any identities.
