Houston authorities have released surveillance footage in the investigation of a double homicide from 2023, showing the suspected assailants and their getaway vehicle. The shooting occurred around 5:35 p.m. on September 23, 2023, at 8900 Bissonnet Street, killing Desmond Moore and Dester Chavez, according to the City of Houston.
The Houston Police Department is asking for help to identify two male suspects seen in a video fleeing in a light-colored Nissan Sentra with a broken front passenger-side door handle. "HPD patrol officers responded to a shooting call near the above address and found two unresponsive males with gunshot wounds," Sergeant C. Ponder said. Both Moore, 48, and Chavez, 30, were pronounced dead at the scene, as reported by the City of Houston.
They have released surveillance video and photos to aid in identifying the suspect or their vehicle. "Anyone with information on the wanted suspect or their vehicle or in this case is urged to contact the HPD Homicide Division at 713-308-3600 or speak anonymously to Crime Stoppers at 713-222-TIPS," the update stated, as mentioned by the City of Houston.
