The Galleria Food Truck Park at Val Verde Street and Chimney Rock Road has been ordered to stop operations. A Harris County judge approved the city's request, citing safety concerns and late-night disturbances at the site, according to KHOU.
The city filed a legal action after reports of a shooting this month and several health code violations. The property owners—Catherine Mehrinfar and RN1 Investment LLC and RN2 Investment LLC—were accused of allowing illegal activity at the site. A temporary restraining order requires the owners to close the property and stop using it as a food truck park until a hearing on October 3, as reported by ABC13.
Neighbors in Houston have raised concerns about a local venue. Jack Downard told KHOU, "After ten or 11 o'clock at night, the customers they attract are questionable, and a lot of stuff goes on here that's highly questionable, often illegal." Bartt Shelton said the establishment disrupts the community. Food truck operators were forced to move, with Enrique Martinez relocating to another spot on Westheimer. Homeowners support the enforcement, while food truck owners were affected.
