Accused of making profit off the desperation of families seeking a better life, the two Mexican nationals and two U.S. citizens involved face severe legal repercussions for their roles in this scheme; among them are Susana Guadian and Daniel Guadian, both aged 50, Dianne Guadian, 32, a U.S. citizen, and Manuel Valenzuela, 35, a legal U.S. resident from El Paso, these individuals have been charged with conspiracy to transport aliens and bringing aliens to the U.S. for financial gain, which highlights the multi-faceted nature of the immigration crisis and the lengths to which some are willing to go for money.
Special Agent in Charge Jason T. Stevens of ICE HSI El Paso stated, "Every child placed in a smugglers hands is a life placed in danger," as per U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement, emphasizing the inherent risks that smuggled children face when placed in the care of these traffickers.
