Among those arrested during the operation, which ran from Aug. 17 through Aug. 23, were criminal aliens, gang members, convicted murderers, child predators, foreign fugitives, and other egregious immigration offenders. The operation aligns with the Trump administration's ongoing efforts to target the "worst of the worst" and uphold federal immigration laws, according to the U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement.
Several high-profile arrests were made public by the U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement, highlighting the gravity of offenses and the profile of the individuals apprehended. One such case involved Jorge Eliseo Torres-Soto, a 30-year-old from Guatemala who was convicted of sexual assault of a child in October 2024, and arrested by ICE on Aug. 22. Another man, Carlos Vega-Ramirez, a 38-year-old from Mexico with repeated convictions including sexual indecency with a minor, was also detained on Aug. 22. Furthermore, 330 of those arrested had been previously ordered removed from the U.S, and approximately 112 had been deported and illegally reentered the U.S. at least once.
This broad operation involved multiple law enforcement agencies, reflecting the collective resolve to enhance security in local communities. Agencies lending their support included the likes of U.S. Customs and Border Protection, DEA, ATF, the Diplomatic Security Service, FBI, the U.S. Marshals Service, and the Texas Department of Public Safety.
