The coffee shop featured in the television show "Friends" is set to open as a physical location in Times Square, after previously existing only as part of the show's fictional setting. Slated for a fall opening, the Central Perk coffee shop is setting up shop on the northeast corner of 7th Avenue and 47th St., according to FOX 5 New York.

Central Perk has previously appeared off-screen through temporary pop-up locations, but this marks the first time a permanent café will open to the public. Designed to offer an experience inspired by the show, the new location will serve food and coffee in a setting modeled after the iconic gathering spot. According to a statement from Central Perk Coffeehouse and Warner Bros. Discovery, "The contemporary take on the FRIENDS gathering spot is a must-visit where unforgettable moments, exceptional coffee, and delicious food come together in the city that started it all," as reported by ABC 7 New York.

Patrons can expect a special menu designed by "Top Chef" executive producer Tom Colicchio. They will also find exclusive merchandise and original coffee blends unique to the Times Square location. “Central Perk Coffeehouse will offer fans exclusive, newly created merchandise available only at its Times Square location. Visitors can also enjoy Central Perk Coffee Co.'s six original coffee blends—available in ground, whole bean, and compostable capsule formats," the press release detailed, as cited by FOX 5 New York.

The new coffee shop will recreate the iconic atmosphere of the original Central Perk, including the signature orange sofa that symbolized the show's group dynamic. The team of food, beverage, and design professionals responsible for the Boston Central Perk location will also bring this New York project to life. "When we launched the first Central Perk Coffeehouse in Boston, our goal was always to expand to New York City, a place where fans and friends alike could create their own stories in the city where the series was set," said CenPer Holdings executive Paul Landino in a statement published by ABC 7 New York.
