Empowerment and leadership are on the agenda for Texas women with the announcement of the upcoming Texas Women’s Leadership Conference (TWLC). According to a release by Governor Greg Abbott's office, the inaugural event, hosted by the Governor’s Commission for Women and First Lady Cecilia Abbott, is slated for February 4-5, 2026, at Austin's AT&T Center.

"In Texas, we recognize the enduring impact women have on our great state," Governor Abbott stated. The governor emphasized Texas's substantial female business owner population, which exceeds over 1.5 million, underlining their importance to the state's economic prosperity. The conference is intended as a catalyst for the next wave of women leaders in business, education, philanthropy, and public service.

First Lady Cecilia Abbott echoed her husband's sentiments on female leadership. "Leadership rooted in purpose and service has the power to transform Texas businesses, Texas government and Texas communities,” she said as per the Office of the Texas Governor. The First Lady’s vision for the TWLC is not just a convergence for inspiration but also a practical workshop for equipping the female leaders, and those poised to make their mark on the state's future.

The TWLC will feature a lineup of high-profile keynote speakers including Allison Ellsworth, Camila Alves McConaughey, Angela Garcia, and Sarah Catherine Perot. The attendees will not only get to absorb wisdom from these ladies but also participate in group discussions on workforce challenges, as well as topics like leadership, finance, and the future of AI.

Backing the conference is the Beacon State Fund, a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization committed to advancing women leadership and workforce opportunities around Texas. With heavyweight presenting sponsors such as AT&T, Chevron, and JPMorgan Chase, the event is poised to offer meaningful opportunities for networking and growth for women across industries in the Lone Star State.
