Bus riders in Janesville rejoice as their daily commutes are set to return to normalcy. According to an official announcement, the Janesville Transit (JT) has concluded its detours along Milton Avenue, meaning routes 1: Milton Ave and 7: Nightside Milton will be back on their regular courses starting Monday, September 22. This comes as a significant development for transit users who have had to adapt to the rerouted services due to construction works.
The resumed routes will see buses once again passing through Milton Avenue and Refset Dr, reinstating the connection to the Uptown Janesville property, a central hub for shopping and events. The changes also include the revival of the bus stop at Holiday and Milton Avenue. To smoothly revert to the previous service patterns, JT will no longer need to utilize the temporary stops that were established on Refset and Woodlane Drive. This modification aims to streamline the commuter experience and increase accessibility for the local community.
Uptown Janesville, the shopping center and event location also home to the Woodman's Sports and Convention Center (WSCC), will now see enhanced bus services. An upgraded bus stop, complete with solar lighting and a designated pull-off lane, awaits travelers on the south side of the WSCC. These upgrades are geared towards bolstering convenience and safety for passengers as they filter through one of Janesville's busy transit spots.
In response to these completed detours, JT extended gratitude to their patrons for their patience during the disruption period. In a statement obtained by Janesville Transit, they said, "JT thanks their passengers for their patience and flexibility while the WSCC was under construction, and we look forward to serving you at our new bus stop at the WSCC!"
