The Charlotte-Mecklenburg Police Department (CMPD) and the FBI will conduct a joint training exercise at the Bojangles Entertainment Complex, 2700 E. Independence Blvd., on Monday next week from 7:30 a.m. to 5:00 p.m., with a smaller simulation at the Latta Nature Preserve.
The Charlotte-Mecklenburg Police Department advises the public to expect a heavy law enforcement presence, including marked and unmarked vehicles and uniformed and plainclothes officers. Loud noises may be heard during the exercise but will be contained within the complex.
The training aims to improve coordination and emergency response among federal, state, and local agencies. Notifications and updates will be provided through the MyCMPD app, social media, signage, and the local 311 service.
