Assistant Chief Summitt's residence is in Rowan County with his wife and young son.
The Kannapolis Fire Department, staffed by approximately 120 personnel, provides coverage for an area exceeding 32 square miles and more than 60,000 residents. Among their resources, the department operates five engine companies, two ladder companies, a heavy rescue unit, a hazardous materials unit, and supplementary support vehicles.
