Motorists in Kapa‘a should prepare for potential delays as single lane closures on Kamalu Road are set to begin September 24 and will continue through October 10, announced the Department of Public Works and its contractor, Maui Kupono Builders. The closures will be in effect from 8 a.m. to 3:30 p.m., weather allowing. Precautions have been encouraged for drivers to plan ahead, seek alternate routes, and buffer their schedules for extra travel time.
While the construction is underway, flaggers are assigned to manage the flow of traffic, ensuring safety and order in the work zone. According to the county's official announcement, "The following closures are necessary for road repaving work."
Residents are advised to plan for the upcoming commute changes and adjust their schedules as needed. For updates on the Kamalu Road lane closures, visit the Department of Public Works website. For inquiries, contact Maui Kupono Builders at 808-369-1800 or Todd Ozaki at 808-241-4845.
