Residents on the island of Kaua‘i facing a glitch in their routine call-ins to the cops, don't fret. The Kaua‘i Police Department (KPD) has made it known that their non-emergency telephone line is suffering intermittent disruptions due to a technical snafu. In an announcement, the KPD has aired alternative contact numbers for the public to use when their main line decides to play hooky.
The hiccup isn't keeping the police from keeping a steady line of communication open. While they're troubleshooting the issue, KPD has put out a call on their official notice asking folks to reach them at (808) 755-8516 or (808) 652-7837 for all non-emergency concerns, so keep these digits handy if you need to reach the law without the sirens.
The department assures the community they are actively working to resolve the problem and promises to keep everyone in the loop with updates, as and when they come, so worry not, KPD's on top of it even if technology seems to be going for a little swim.
