Mark your calendars for a community gathering that celebrates the creativity of Kauai's seniors. The Department of Parks and Recreation has announced the Senior Center Craft Fair, set for Saturday, Oct. 11, from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. at the Līhu‘e Neighborhood Center. According to the County of Kaua'i official press release, this event will showcase a variety of handmade goods crafted by members of the local senior clubs.
The fair takes place at 3353 Eono Street in Līhu‘e and will feature an array of items including blankets, rugs, quilts, and pillows. Artisans from the Līhu‘e, Waimea, and Kekaha Neighborhood Center Senior Clubs, as well as the Līhu‘e Senior Bonsai Club, will be displaying their work. In addition to these, attendees can also expect to find unique leis, kitchen towels, and an assortment of Christmas-themed crafts, as reported by the County of Kaua'i.
Plant enthusiasts will be delighted to find that the Līhu‘e Bonsai Club's selection of bonsai plants are available for sale. Furthermore, the Country Store will add to the event's charm with its assortment of baked goods, pickled cucumbers, fresh produce, and various household items, perfect for those looking for local flavors or the odd treasure for home, as detailed by the County of Kaua'i.
