Bays Mountain Park and the Friends of Bays History Committee will host Campfire Tales on October 10 and 11 from 6:30 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. in the park’s outdoor amphitheater. Storyteller Dr. Hannah Harvey will lead the sessions. Admission is free, sponsored by Knoxville TVA Credit Union, according to the City of Kingsport.
Dr. Hannah Harvey, who has ties to the region, will present stories about Bays Mountain and Appalachia. “Storytelling connects people to places. We’re thrilled to welcome Dr. Hannah Harvey to share stories that celebrate the spirit of Appalachia, and especially Bays Mountain,” said Brenda Fox, Chair of the Friends of Bays Events Committee, on the Kingsport government website. The event will take place at the park’s outdoor amphitheater, as reported by the City of Kingsport.
Bays Mountain Park & Planetarium will hold a free two-night event. Friday’s session is for families and children, and Saturday’s session is for teens and adults. Seating is limited and on a first-come, first-served basis. Free s’mores will be available from 5:30 to 6:15 p.m. if the weather allows. Ethan and Nora’s food truck will serve hot dogs and drinks for purchase. More information is at baysmountain.com or by calling (423) 229-9447, as stated by the City of Kingsport.
