Labor Day Weekend in Lake Havasu City saw an uptick in law enforcement activity, with the Lake Havasu City Police Department responding to a myriad of calls and making several arrests. According to a report published on the department's official website, from August 29 to September 1, officers received a total of 950 calls for service and made 90 arrests, a figure that includes bookings, citations, and releases.
Of the arrests made, 52 individuals were booked into the LHCPD jail, 37 were cited and released, which included eight juveniles. One juvenile was referred and released, "a total of 141 reports were completed," according to a statement released by the Lake Havasu City Police Department. The report detailed that out of the arrests, eleven were felony-related arrests, yet when it came to DUI arrests, none were of the aggravated (felony) nature.
Traffic enforcement and safety measures were a focal point of the holiday weekend with the department emphasizing their commitment to DUI enforcement. During the holiday weekend, LHCPD initiated contact with 406 drivers during civil traffic stops and arrested 10 individuals for DUI-related offenses, striving to maintain safety for those celebrating and traveling.
