In an incident that has South Gate residents talking, an LAPD patrol car ended up crashing into a local burger joint, Bobo's Hamburgers, following a pursuit of burglary suspects last Sunday. The mayhem commenced early in the morning, around 7:15 a.m., when officers trailed two individuals suspected of burglary near the intersection of Santa Fe Avenue and Slauson Avenue. The chase eventually led to an unrelated arrest and property damage to the eatery, according to KTLA.
While police activity is not unusual, what caught many off guard was an officer-involved crash at Firestone Boulevard and Santa Fe Avenue, where a patrol SUV slammed into the facade of Bobo’s Hamburgers. The pursuit itself ended when the burglary suspects got away, but amid the chaos, officers arrested a woman on suspicion of grand theft auto, as noted by NBC Los Angeles.
"Authorities believe her arrest is unrelated to the original pursuit. It remains unclear whether she was involved in the crash," as per CBS News Los Angeles. No injuries were reported in the collision.
