
In a concerted effort to curb impaired driving over the Labor Day weekend, Las Vegas law enforcement agencies undertook a "DUI super blitz," resulting in numerous arrests and citations. According to a social media post from the Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department (LVMPD), the operation was a collaborative effort involving officers from every Area Command, LVMPD Traffic, LVMPD 911 Communications, the Boulder City Police Department, and Nevada State Police.
During the holiday weekend, law enforcement executed 955 traffic stops, which led to 631 citations. A total of 42 individuals found themselves under arrest for DUI, while eight others were arrested for various offenses, including one that recovered a gun.
Stretched across the weekend, the police efforts were focused on preventing traffic-related fatalities and promoting road safety. With a shared commitment to safety, the statement obtained by News 3 LV echoed LVMPD's resolve, "Remember, lives are in the balance, and one life lost is too many."
