In a display of rapid response, the Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department's Search and Rescue team (LVMPD SAR) executed a critical rescue operation in the South McCullough Wilderness area near Jean. Yesterday, LVMPD SAR personnel aboard AIR1 attended to an emergency after a 911 call reported a person believed to be suffering a heart attack while out in the rugged terrain, according to the department's social media post.

Due to the distance and challenging landscape, local fire department personnel who initially responded on the ground soon called for aerial support. Mercy Air, another key player in this airborne ballet of rescue operations took to the skies conducting an air search while waiting for AIR1's arrival. LVMPD's SAR unit managed to pinpoint the individual's location despite the wilderness's daunting expanses and unforgiving nature.

Upon locating the distressed person, LVMPD SAR swiftly inserted a rescuer onto the scene to provide immediate aid. The subsequent extraction of the individual was conducted via a hoist operation that emphasized precision, and timeliness. The victim was then transported to Jean airport where Mercy Air took over, ensuring the patient reached the local hospital for necessary medical treatment.
