League City will hold a free tree giveaway on October 2 as part of its efforts to maintain its “Tree City USA” status. According to a League City statement, Trees for Houston has donated a limited number of saplings for residents on a first-come, first-served basis.
The event will take place at 600 West Walker Street from 8 a.m. to 10 a.m. or until supplies run out. A total of 200 trees will be available, with a limit of one tree per family. Trees will be in three-gallon containers, and participants must provide their own transport. The site is located across from the League City Police Department.
The selection includes Live Oak, Eastern Redbud, Mexican Red Oak, Southern Magnolia, and Shumard Oak, ranging in size from 3 to 6 feet. More details about the event can be found on League City’s official website.
