Levi Barton, wanted for failure to register as a sex offender, is now in custody. Barton had not complied with sex offender registry requirements by failing to keep authorities informed of his location.
The Jefferson County Sheriff’s Office announced on Facebook that Barton, of De Soto, had an active warrant for failure to register. His bond was set at $30,000 cash/surety, and the public was asked to report any information about his whereabouts through the Crimetips email.
Authorities confirmed Barton’s arrest and indicated that updates, including information about his court proceedings, will be released through official channels.
