If your furry friend is in need of vaccinations but the cost has been a barrier, mark your calendar for the upcoming low-cost pet vaccine clinic in Lewisville. On Saturday, October 4, from 10 a.m. to noon, the City of Lewisville and the Texas Coalition for Animal Protection (TCAP) are hosting a clinic at Gene Carey Animal Shelter and Adoption Center, located at 995 E. Valley Ridge Boulevard. This event offers pet owners an affordable option to keep their pets healthy and protected against various diseases.
Details from the City of Lewisville reveal a range of services for both dogs and cats. For a minimal fee, dogs can be tested for and vaccinated against serious health threats such as Rabies, Bordetella, DAPPv, Leptospirosis, Lyme Disease, Canine Influenza, and Heartworm. Cats, on the other hand, can receive tests and vaccines for Rabies, FeLV, FHCPCh, and FIV. As a prerequisite, heartworm prevention will be provided only after a pet tests negative in a heartworm test administered by TCAP.
Animal safety is a priority during the clinic, meaning all dogs must be kept on a leash and all cats securely in a hard-sided carrier. This ensures the welfare of pets, pet owners, and the clinic staff during the vaccination process. The clinic not only seeks to vaccinate pets but also aims to raise awareness about the importance of regular pet healthcare.
