
The public library at 1197 W. Main Street is bustling with activities for all ages. Whether you're a mother with a little one, a small business owner, or a teen anime enthusiast, there's an event for you this week. The library's doors are open Monday-Thursday from 9 a.m. to 8 p.m., Friday and Saturday from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m., and they're taking a break on Sunday, according to the City of Lewisville.
Mother Goose Time is perfect for children ages 0-15 months and their caregivers, offering a chance to bond through songs, stories, and play. The free events are happening on Monday, Sept. 22, from 10:45-11:15 a.m., and on Thursday, Sept. 25, from 1:30-2 p.m., though space is limited and tickets are required – available on a first-come, first-served basis, 30 minutes before the class starts.
For adults, there's an opportunity to bolster financial literacy with a session called Financial Fundamentals for Small Businesses with DATCU, set for Tuesday, Sept. 23, from 6:30-7:30 p.m. No registration is required for this free program, where DATCU experts will share tips for small business owners, including the importance of proper checking and savings accounts and the significance of a strong relationship with a banker.
And if you're between the ages of 13 and 18, make sure to check out Teen AniMakers: Anime & Manga + Makers on Thursday, Sept. 25, from 6-7:30 p.m. The Hive Makerspace will be the meeting spot for like-minded teens to dive into games, crafts, and conversations about their favorite anime and manga series, no registration required, just show up ready to geek out and get creative.
