Residents in the City of Lewisville who own pets may want to mark their calendars for a cost-effective opportunity to keep their furry friends healthy. In a recent announcement, the City of Lewisville has partnered with the Texas Coalition for Animal Protection (TCAP) to run a low-cost pet vaccine clinic. Set for Saturday, Oct. 4, from 10 a.m. to noon, the event will take place at the Gene Carey Animal Shelter and Adoption Center, located at 995 E. Valley Ridge Boulevard.

This upcoming clinic serves to be a boon for pet owners looking to affordably maintain their pet's health. For a minimal fee, dog owners can have their pets tested for a variety of diseases and to duly receive vaccines against Rabies, Bordetella, DAPPv, Leptospirosis, Lyme Disease, Canine Influenza, and Heartworm. Cat owners are not left behind, with services available for Rabies, FeLV, FHCPCh, and FIV vaccinations. It's crucial to note that a negative test is a prerequisite for a Heartworm prevention prescription, which can only be issued after a TCAP-administered test.

The importance of maintaining such health measures can't be overstated, with wellness services also being offered at a reduced cost during the event. To ensure the safety of both the pets and attendees, the clinic has put forth a rule stating that all dogs must be on a leash and all cats contained within a hard-sided carrier.
