The Lewisville Police Department took to social media yesterday to share a glimpse into the city's August 2025 crime statistics and law enforcement activities. The update, which was posted on their Facebook page, detailed various metrics, including calls for service, specific crime instances, and traffic-related data.
Over the course of the month, the department responded to 7,497 calls for service. Among these were 174 crimes against persons and 311 crimes against property. Striving to enforce traffic laws, officers conducted 1,258 traffic stops. These efforts resulted in the issuance of 912 citations and 820 warnings. Looking at the darker side of the road, there were 47 incidents involving driving while intoxicated, and 316 vehicle collisions, of which 121 collisions involved injury.
The report also covered arrests made during August. The total arrests amounted to 352, a figure that encompasses a spectrum of offenses. These statistics are part of the department's initiative to maintain transparency with the residents of Lewisville and provide insight into the police work that occurs in the community. The post did not provide comparative figures from previous months or indicate trends, but presented the data as a standalone report card for August 2025.
