The City of Lewisville is revising its decade-old vision, with an update to the Lewisville 2025 plan that first came to light a decade ago. The revision, now dubbed Lewisville 2035, aims to shepherd the city into the next era, as reported by the City's official website. In line with this agenda, a Community Visioning Workshop is set to take place at the Lewisville Grand Theater, located at 100 N. Charles Street, on Thursday, Sept. 18, from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m. Residents are encouraged to come forward with their concerns and ideas to help shape the new vision plan, per the City of Lewisville.
This workshop promises variety, with its schedule packed with entertainment and interactive stations in an effort to engage attendees of all ages. According to the city's announcement, the Old Town Brass is set to perform, adding a musical backdrop to the free hot dog dinner that includes chips and fruit. Beyond sustenance and music, engagement activities are slated to occur, involving a community art project and Marco's Room — designed for kids and families to express their thoughts creatively.
In an inclusive turn, real-time translation services will be available for Spanish-speaking attendees who want to follow English presentations. Interested parties are to come equipped with their smartphones and personal headphones, eager to access the Interpify translation app for seamless linguistic transition. This appears to be a nod to Lewisville's diverse demographic, ensuring the city's future is plotted with input from a broad spectrum of its inhabitants.
Speakers at the event will include the likes of Lewisville High School's football coach, Michael Odle, interspersed with multiple input stations that seek to capture the public's voice on pressing priorities. These stations and presentations are crucial, as they directly influence the policy drafters and city planners who are charting the course for Lewisville's path into 2035 and, importantly, translating communal discourse into actionable initiatives.
