This morning, Livermore's streets became the stage for a routine traffic stop that swiftly escalated into a narcotics bust. A post shared on social media by Livermore PD details an encounter involving their K9 Unit, Methamphetamine, and a sizable sum of money. The incident occurred around 2:30 a.m. near First Street and Las Positas Road.

During the stop, K9 Nitro, a member of the Livermore Police canine corps, managed to quickly hint at the presence of drugs in the stopped vehicle. A subsequent search by officers unearthed 58 grams of methamphetamine alongside a large bundle of cash.

The discovery led to the arrest of 51-year-old Jose Rodriguez of Oakland. He's now facing charges for possession of methamphetamine with the intent to sell, according to Livermore PD's report.
