The San Diego Police, in collaboration with the San Diego School Police, have today enforced a lockdown at Clairemont High School following reports of a potential threat. According to a social media announcement from the San Diego Police Department, the authorities are carefully conducting a comprehensive safety sweep of the campus located at 4150 Ute Drive. This move was made in reaction to the possibility of danger that law enforcement had been aware of.
Adjacent to this development, Marston Middle School was also initially caught in the crosshairs of the lockdown procedure. Authorities ensured the middle school's security through a tactical assessment before lifting the lockdown at the site. Information from the social media post indicates that, while Marston Middle School students have returned to their regular routines, the high school campus is still restricted.
Regarding logistics for concerned parents and guardians of Clairemont High's student body, the San Diego Police Department has provided several designated reunification locations. These places include the YMCA at 3401 Clairemont Dr., 2800 Calle Way behind the Sprouts grocery store, and the Canyon View Church of Christ at 4292 Balboa Ave. These sites are intended to serve as organizational hubs where families can be reunited with their children once clearance is given and the campus lockdown is fully lifted.
