The Lone Tree community was confronted with a harrowing incident when police, conducting a welfare check, discovered the body of Kathleen Mayo, a 57-year-old woman, inside her apartment at 10400 Park Meadows Drive. The check, carried out just before midday Thursday, led to the chilling find that has since spurred a homicide investigation, as reported by Denver7.
Found dead inside, Mayo's demise is now under the scrutiny of the Lone Tree Police Department, which has deemed the case a homicide. The officers, after finding Mayo in her home, learned she was an Uber/Lyft driver part-time, a detail that might shed light on the circumstances leading up to her death. In a plea to the public, the police are urging anyone with information to contact them on the tip line at 720-509-1160, as per CBS News Colorado.
Moving forward in the investigation, the Lone Tree Police Department has taken decisive action by releasing photos of Mayo. These photographs, they hope, will assist in jogging the memories of potential witnesses or acquaintances who may have seen Mayo in the hours or days before her untimely passing. This development followed the authorities' encounter with the grisly scene at Mayo's residence, as KDVR reported.
