
A tragic incident unfolded on the streets of Long Beach this past Friday evening, claiming the life of a 3-year-old boy. According to KTLA, Long Beach Police responded to a call at 6:27 p.m. regarding a traffic collision at the intersection of Artesia Boulevard and Rose Avenue. Upon arrival, officers found the young child who had sustained serious injuries after being struck by a vehicle.
The Long Beach Fire Department swiftly took to perform CPR on the toddler before he was transported to a local hospital. Despite all efforts to save the boy's life, he tragically succumbed to his injuries. A preliminary investigation by the police revealed that the boy had run into the street and was hit by a man driving westbound on Artesia Boulevard. "The driver remained at the scene and cooperated with authorities," as stated by CBS News. Police have indicated that neither speed, distracted driving, nor impaired driving seems to have played a role in this heartbreaking accident.
